Julia Stiles paid tribute to the late Heath Ledger during a recent episode of Dancing with the Stars. She brought together the cast of 10 Things I Hate About You while channeling her character from the movie through her outfit. Julia Stiles and her dance partner, Ezra Sosa, performed a contemporary routine on Frankie Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.” She was also joined by the 10 Things I Hate About You cast, paying homage to Ledger. During her rehearsals, the actress appreciated the late actor, saying that she got to learn a lot from him and that he was so “authentic” in nature.
“I see pictures from that time, and I’m like, wow. It was so easy with him. I have so many great memories, but I’m also really sad, because I wish I could pick up the phone and be like, ‘Hey dude, people really care about that movie. We did something special.’ And I can’t do that,” she continued. She further added that she wanted to create the “lust for life” Ledger had in that one particular scene through her performance.
Towards the end of the routine, Stiles went near the photo of her and Ledger from the movie while also placing a rose on the stair as a tribute. Then, the cast members Gabrielle Union, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Andrew Keegan, Susan May Pratt, and Larisa Oleynik popped up to pay homage to the actor (via PEOPLE).
