Prince George’s Eton Move May Be ‘Especially Emotional’ for Kate Middleton — Royal Expert

A royal expert suggests that Kate Middleton may find Prince George‘s transition to Eton “especially emotional.” The news comes after the young royal started school there last month on September 8. The world-renowned independent boarding school in Berkshire, England, has educated 20 British prime ministers, including Boris Johnson, David Cameron and the Duke of Wellington.

Jennie Bond weighs in on Kate Middleton’s adjustment to Prince George’s move

A royal expert has shared insight into how Princess Catherine is likely coping as the family adjusts to life at home without Prince George. The Prince and Princess of Wales’ eldest son is upholding his father, Prince William, and uncle, Prince Harry’s legacy by enrolling at Eton College.

In an interview with OK!, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond spoke about Kate Middleton. She suggested that the Princess is probably finding it hard to adjust to George no longer living at home.

Bond told the outlet, “This must have been such a big transition period for the family as a whole. George will inevitably feel more independent after his first few weeks at Eton, and I’m sure his siblings will have had a fair bit of adjustment to make as the family dynamics change. Mind you, in this digital age, it’s all so different to the time when children went away to boarding school, and there was nothing except the odd letter or phone call, if it was allowed.”

The royal commentator went on to say that video chats have likely kept the 13-year-old connected with his family. Even so, she said that for such a close family, an empty chair and bedroom must feel strange. Jennie Bond further noted that this is probably quite emotional for Catherine. After all, the Princess of Wales has spent the last few years focusing on her health and recovery.

That said, William and Middleton will soon be reunited with George. Eton’s website lists the Autumn half-term break from October 23 to November 8. Meanwhile, the couple still has their two younger children with them in Windsor: 11-year-old Princess Charlotte and 8-year-old Prince Louis.
