Meghan Markle Fears Looking Like a ‘Joke’ After Major Royal Snub — Source

Meghan Markle has reportedly been dealt a fresh blow, as tensions stir between her and Princess Eugenie. According to sources, a signed copy of Markle’s children’s book, “The Bench”, has surfaced online. The Duchess had gifted the book to the Princess with a personalized note, and the discovery of the same book for sale on eBay has raised several questions. With the Sussexes reportedly working to repair ties with relatives, a source claims this new episode has left Meghan fearing she looks like a “joke.”

Meghan Markle ‘feels humiliated’ after Princess Eugenie’s eBay book controversy, per source

According to Closer, the copy of “The Bench” that appeared for sale online features an inscription to Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank. Drive Easy’s Signed Books, owned by specialist bookseller Nicholas Joseph Greenwood, listed the alleged copy for £20,000, approximately $26,500.

The inscription was dated 2021. It reads, “Dear Eug & Jack, Celebrating the special bond between father and son. I wrote this poem at Frogmore – I hope that Eug, you witness the same love there with your guys. All love, Meghan.”

Thousands of people viewed the listing before it was deleted. The source also notes that it is unclear whether the book sold or was simply removed. Moreover, how it reached the marketplace is also unknown, though an insider claims it was accidentally given away when “Frogmore was cleared.”

The reaction in the Sussex household was reportedly swift. The source revealed that Prince Harry called Eugenie to find out exactly what had happened.

They added, “To Meghan, it’s quite hurtful seeing something so personal from that period effectively discarded.” The insider also said that the Duchess feels humiliated and wants a cooling-off period with Eugenie.

Eugenie, meanwhile, was reportedly “mortified.” The source said she explained that she had not deliberately got rid of the book and had certainly not sold it. Even so, the source claimed, “the whole thing has left a rather nasty taste” for the Sussexes.

The timing of the incident adds weight, according to the insider. The episode comes as the couple settles into life in the Cotswolds with their children, Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5. The source adds that “Eugenie was an important part of that rehabilitation” for Harry and Meghan.
