Why There’s No New Last Seen Episode This Week on Apple TV

Apple TV+ viewers may be wondering why Last Seen is absent from this week’s release schedule. The Australian thriller has drawn attention for its gripping storyline, leaving fans curious about the reason behind the break in new episodes.

Here’s why there won’t be a new episode this week and what viewers need to know about the show’s future.

Why Last Seen isn’t releasing a new episode on Apple TV this week

There will be no new episode of Last Seen on Apple TV+ this week because the thriller has reached the end of its six-episode run. The final episode premiered on October 7, 2026, completing the show’s weekly rollout after its first two episodes arrived together on September 9. With the season now finished, viewers can stream the complete story on the platform.

The Australian series centers on Ian Ridley, a former detective whose daughter, Maggie, disappeared without explanation a decade earlier. Now working as a police dispatcher, Ian has spent years refusing to accept that he may never find her. His search takes a new turn when he receives a distress call from a young girl he believes could be Maggie.

Determined to discover the truth, he pursues the lead in the hope of reuniting his family. Patrick Brammall leads the cast as Ian Ridley, alongside Brendan Cowell as Henry Reid. Others include Maxine Peake as Jenna Reid, Daniel Henshall as Donald Reid, Jessica Wren as Debbie McGuire, and Zahra Newman as Isabel Pena.

The series has received a positive response from critics, earning an 88 percent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, its audience score is significantly lower at 62 percent. Although the first season has ended, Apple TV+ has not announced whether Last Seen will return for a second season.

Writer and executive producer Kris Mrksa previously addressed the possibility in an interview with TV Insider, confirming that discussions had begun. “The reality is we are talking about it and about what we might do,” he said.
