In her Daily Mail column, former MP Nadine Dorries argued that Meghan Markle’s recent media attention demonstrated that the Duchess of Sussex was “back and means business.” Dorries cited Meghan’s London outing with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai. She suggested the Princess of Wales needed to refresh her public image. Her argument framed the recent coverage as a media attention contest between the two women. However, this remains the columnist’s interpretation, not an established rivalry.
“Love her or loathe her, Meghan knows how to snatch the spotlight,” Dorries wrote for the Daily Mail. She continued, “The past week has been marked by a renewed media blitz from the Duchess, and all eyes are on her again. Which is exactly how she wants it to be.” The commentator shared that Markle’s presence dominated the headlines throughout the week. She added that the “Suits” alum’s presence peaked after a recent sighting of Middleton. Dorries further said, “Was the timing a coincidence? In my opinion, it wasn’t. Meghan knows exactly how to divert attention her way.” The royal expert said the Princess of Wales’s current image “needs a glow-up,” and her “old sparkle wouldn’t go amiss.”
Recently, Closer reported that Markle has her own priorities after moving to the UK and doesn’t wish to only follow her husband around for engagements. “She’s focused on the kids and her brand, and truth be told, she’s not interested in following him around like some Stepford wife,” the source said. Markle reportedly believes the Sussexes’ UK return can only work if she and Harry split their responsibilities.
