Prince Harry has reportedly teamed up with the BBC to work on a new documentary project. The news follows rumors of him planning a film tribute to mark Princess Diana’s 30th death anniversary. The Duke of Sussex had, however, previously vowed alongside his older brother Prince William not to do another Diana documentary after their 2017 memorial film.
Prince Harry will reportedly feature in the BBC’s upcoming documentary about UK race relations
Prince Harry has reportedly joined forces with Baroness Doreen Lawrence for a new BBC documentary on race relations in Britain. The collaboration comes after the pair appeared together as co-claimants in an unsuccessful lawsuit against Associated Newspapers earlier this year. The case centred on allegations of unlawful information gathering and serious breaches of privacy.
According to The Telegraph, the exact nature of the Duke’s role in the documentary remains undisclosed, though sources have verified his involvement with both the Baroness and the broadcaster.
As for Lady Lawrence’s connection to the project, her involvement brings deeply personal weight. Since her son Stephen Lawrence was murdered in a racially motivated attack in 1993, the 73-year-old has dedicated her life to campaigning for racial justice, making her a central and resonant voice for a documentary exploring race relations in Britain.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry has been no stranger to the documentary format, using it to tell his own story and highlight causes close to him. His most high-profile project to date is the 2022 Netflix series “Harry & Meghan.” Directed by Liz Garbus, the six-part series is led and narrated by the Sussexes themselves. It charts the couple’s early romance, media scrutiny, mental health struggles, and their decision to step down as senior working royals.
Beyond that, the Duke has featured in a string of other profile films and standalone specials, covering everything from his time in the military and his work with the Invictus Games to his ongoing connection to his late mother. That includes the 2017 BBC and ITV documentary “Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy,” which he made alongside Prince William.
