Taylor Swift Set for Major Performance One Day Before Travis Kelce’s Chiefs Return

Taylor Swift is preparing for another major performance while her husband, Travis Kelce, enjoys a break from football. The singer will take the stage at a prestigious Hollywood event, the Academy Museum Gala, just one day before the Kansas City Chiefs return to the field. Her upcoming appearance adds to an already busy schedule following the release of her latest music.

Taylor Swift will close the Academy Museum Gala on October 17 before Travis Kelce’s game the next day

Academy Museum Director and President Amy Homma announced that Swift will close the star-studded gala. The event will honor Charlize Theron, Colman Domingo, and John Carpenter while raising funds to support the museum’s mission.

Homma praised the pop superstar in a statement, calling her “an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world.” She added that the museum warmly welcomes Swift to deliver the evening’s closing performance. The gala comes just one day before Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs return to action against the Los Angeles Chargers following their bye week.

While Swift prepares for the performance, Kelce has revealed he plans to keep his week off simple. Speaking on the latest episode of New Heights, the tight end shared his plans for the break. He said he would spend the time working out, watching football and baseball, and enjoying college football before returning to the field.

The performance also arrives as Swift continues building momentum during awards season. She recently released her EP The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore and premiered the music video for “Patient Zero” during the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.

Heavy reported that Swift is widely expected to perform “I Knew It, I Knew You,” her song from the Toy Story 5 soundtrack. The track has reportedly become one of the year’s biggest soundtrack hits, fueling speculation about a potential Best Original Song Oscar campaign. According to Variety, Hollywood considers the Academy Museum Gala an important event during awards season. Steven Spielberg, Kate Capshaw, and Robert Rodriguez will co-chair this year’s gala, bringing together some of Hollywood’s biggest names.
