Ex-Prince Andrew Not Completely Off the Hook Despite Legal Win — Report

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is reportedly not entirely off the hook despite his legal win. Back in February, the ex-prince was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. His name has also been linked to the wider controversy surrounding Jeffrey Epstein. While he did win this specific legal dispute, the former Duke of York has not won the overall criminal case.

Police chiefs will reportedly continue investigation into ex-Prince Andrew ‘at pace’

The police investigation into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor will reportedly continue “at pace” despite his legal win. Andrew was arrested by Thames Valley Police on his 66th birthday at his property on the Royal Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. Police spent five days searching his properties, during which they seized electronic devices and documents.

The ex-prince was released later, but the investigation remains ongoing. The dispute over the use of the seized evidence is likely to drag on into next year. The prolonged uncertainty has reportedly heightened Andrew’s concerns about whether he will ultimately face any charges.

Amid this, a new report by The U.S. Sun suggests that Thames Valley Police admitted to using the wrong warrants during raids carried out in connection with his arrest. However, Judge Mr Justice Hilliard reportedly clarified that the probe into alleged misconduct in public office would continue.

A spokesperson said, “Our investigation into alleged misconduct in public office by a man in his 60s from Norfolk remains ongoing.” They added, “We continue to pursue all reasonable lines of enquiry to effectively and fairly progress this investigation.”

On July 22, the High Court quashed the warrants that police had used to search the properties. However, the judge noted that this did not mean the investigation was over. He stated, “The fact they were quashed does not bring an investigation to an end, or mean that the whole of the investigation was unlawful.” Hence, Andrew’s legal battle is far from over, and the road ahead could be a long and challenging one.
