Ryan Gosling’s Ghost Rider movie may have just found the perfect name for its fiery ride. A new report claims the upcoming MCU movie is being filmed under a working title.
According to Cosmic Circus, the movie is reportedly being made under the working title “Drive-Thru.” The outlet also reports that Throttle Productions LLC is attached to the project. Both names appear to reference the driving theme associated with Ghost Rider.
“Unless in the film, Ghost Rider is going to zoom by for a Big Mac at McDonald’s or give the penance stare to the AI taking orders at Wendy’s, that is. That’s right… Our sources have confirmed that the working title for Ghost Rider (2028) is ‘Drive-Thru,'” the report read.
The movie was announced at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026, with Shawn Levy set to direct and Gosling set to star. The actor had expressed interest in playing Ghost Rider before pitching his own idea for the movie to Marvel Studios.

Ghost Rider’s production company surfaces in new report
Marvel Studios has scheduled Ghost Rider for July 28, 2028. The movie was initially announced only as part of the studio’s 2028 slate before receiving its official release date. It is currently set to arrive two months after Marvel’s first X-Men movie, which is set for a release on May 5, 2028.
Levy has revealed how quickly he decided to direct the project. According to the filmmaker, he agreed to direct the project just six minutes into Gosling’s pitch.
The connection to Throttle Productions LLC was first spotted by Murphy’s Multiverse in August. At the time, the outlet suggested the company could be linked to Ghost Rider, but there was no confirmation that it was working on the movie.
Gosling is rumored to play Johnny Blaze, the character most closely associated with Ghost Rider in Marvel Comics. Sacha Baron Cohen has also reportedly been linked to the role of Mephisto, although the movie’s main villain has not been confirmed.
Before Ghost Rider, Gosling and Levy will team up for Star Wars: Starfighter. The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on May 28, 2027.
