A source now claims Prince Harry sees a recent red carpet moment as part of a wider pattern involving Prince William. It stems from when Tom Cruise made a memorable entrance at the London premiere of his new film, “Digger,” arriving with the Waleses and taking Kate Middleton‘s arm to lead her down the steps.
The trio looked like old friends, and Cruise’s warm words about Kate in a later interview reportedly added to the buzz. Yet the mood is reportedly very different elsewhere in the Sussex camp.

Cruise’s praise did not stop with Kate. He also turned to her husband, saying, “Will, way to go. Smart choice.” An insider told Closer that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not charmed. They allegedly believe the pair made a big show of the friendship to upset them. “They would love to have Tom kissing up to them the way he does with William and Kate,” the source said.
The link between Cruise and the Waleses is not new. At a February 2024 gala, William personally thanked the actor for donating millions to the London Air Ambulance Service. Cruise also attended the Queen’s Jubilee and King Charles’ Coronation celebrations.
William has other famous supporters too. Cate Blanchett, Stella McCartney, Gisele Bundchen and Robert Irwin have backed his charity, The Earthshot Prize. According to the source, the Sussexes view this as William’s way of “trying to one-up them.”
The insider says Prince Harry is not shocked. He allegedly knows his brother “well enough to know exactly how petty and manipulative he can be.” The source adds that Harry sees a “huge double standard.” In their words, he and Meghan were “mocked endlessly” for being “too Hollywood” after moving to California in 2020.
The source also claims the couple suspect William played a part in the end of their friendship with David and Victoria Beckham. They note that the Beckhams have never spoken publicly about the matter.
The source’s report also describes the Waleses’ side. According to the insider, William and Kate see premieres and star meetings as “just business as usual.” They have reportedly done this for years. Meghan, who starred in “Suits,” is said to find it hard because Hollywood is “her world.”
