Annette Badland has reflected on what she will miss most about her time on Ted Lasso, highlighting the connection the series has built with viewers.
The actress said she is particularly proud of being part of a show. She mentioned that it has become meaningful to audiences going through difficult moments in their lives. Speaking to TVLine, Badland said, “I’ll miss the laughter and the camaraderie.” She also recalled receiving personal messages from viewers. She stated how much the series had helped them during challenging periods.
The actress explained, “I’m very proud to be part of it because of the public response. But I get messages from people who say, ‘My mother has cancer. She goes for her treatment, she comes home, she’s in a terrible state. We all pile on the bed and we watch ‘Ted Lasso,’ and we laugh and we believe.’”
Badland added, “So to be involved with something that can do that is a huge gift, and I will miss it desperately. But I know that’s in the world, so it’s terrific.”
During the same interview, the host asked her whether Mae died happy and if spending her final day with the Lady Greyhounds fulfilled her final wishes. Badland agreed that it was the best possible way for the character to spend her final hours. “Yeah, I think this is the best passing she could possibly have. Really, it’s tremendous,” she said.
