A new poll has highlighted strong disapproval from royal fans over Prince Harry‘s reported Diana documentary. The news comes amid reports that he is in talks for a documentary marking 30 years since Princess Diana’s passing. The Duke of Sussex was just 12 years old when his mother died in a 1997 car crash at the age of 36.
Prince Harry’s alleged Diana documentary move isn’t sitting well with royal fans
A new Daily Express poll has criticized Prince Harry, calling on him not to make a documentary about his late mother, Princess Diana.
The Duke reportedly wants to commemorate the 30th anniversary, due on August 31 next year, in the “most meaningful way.” Reports suggest that he has reached out to many of the late Princess of Wales’ friends and family to appear in the documentary.
Speaking to The Telegraph, a source close to Harry said, “The Duke has discussed a number of possible projects to mark the 30th anniversary of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales’s passing.”
However, they noted that nothing has been finalised yet. The non-working royal is still exploring the most meaningful way to pay tribute to her legacy in this important anniversary year.
The Daily Express ran a poll from 7 am on September 23 to 4.15 pm on September 24. It asked readers whether Prince Harry should proceed with his reported Princess Diana documentary, with 2,836 people voting in total.
A total of 2,767 readers, or 98%, said he should not proceed, while only 56, or two percent, voted yes. Meanwhile, 13 people, or 0%, voted that they “don’t know” whether a documentary by the non-working royal would be a good idea.
Reactions have been pouring in, with many readers sharing strong views on the proposal. One comment read, “As the saying goes, Harry, ‘Let sleeping dogs lie.'” Another voter wrote, “For goodness sakes just go away, it’s been 30 years sick to death of reading about this stuff.” One supporter said, “If anyone has a right to, he does,” while a critic called the idea “delusional.”
