The Duke of Sussex wore a black suit and bow tie and appeared in good spirits as he met other Invictus Games attendees. He also stopped outside the venue to pose for photographs. The appearance marked an important public moment for Harry following his recent return to the UK.
Meghan Markle has often joined her husband at Invictus Games events in the past. However, she chose not to join him at the London event this time. Meghan has not given an official reason for her absence. However, reports suggest that she may have stayed home with 7-year-old Archie and 5-year-old Lilibet as the children adjust to their new surroundings. Harry and Meghan reportedly moved into their new home in the Cotswolds in the UK about three weeks ago.
A source close to the Sussexes previously told PEOPLE that settling their children remains their main concern following the move. “Has been, and remains, their focus,” the source said, adding that “everything else will fall into place when the time is right.”
The source also described the move as a major adjustment for the family after relocating from California. “There is a lot to do. They have just moved halfway across the world, and it’s been really busy getting the kids settled,” the source said. The insider added that they would focus on the children “for the time being.”
