Meghan Markle’s recent school drama sparked comparisons between her and Kate Middleton. A source suggested that the Princess of Wales dropped off her children like an “ordinary” parent. Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex allegedly expected “VIP treatment.” The news came after Meghan and Prince Harry pulled Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet out of their first UK schools. The reason was cited as security concerns.
Source compares Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s school drop-offs
Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have reportedly been compared for their school drop-offs. A source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice that the Sussexes’ reason for taking their kids out of their schools was not security concerns. They claimed that it was “heavy school-run traffic.” It was said that Meghan didn’t seem to like how she had to sit in traffic like other parents.
Furthermore, the insider highlighted that Kate has “driven her children to school and sat in traffic.” She behaved like every other mother who was dropping off their kids at school. “Harry and Meghan don’t see themselves as ordinary private citizens. They still expect the machinery around them to move because they’re VIPs,” they said.
According to the outlet, some friends claimed that the school was not the problem, but the “ordinary” treatment. It was reported that the Sussexes didn’t like being stuck in traffic and seemingly blamed it on security concerns. “They say they want normality, but normality means traffic, WhatsApp groups and waiting your turn,” the source added. They quipped, saying that the Sussexes might want a “private life” with normal “exceptions” like a “royal motorcade.”
Moreover, the source noted that Harry and Meghan might have expected special treatment at their kids’ school. But the institution “treated them like parents, not visiting heads of state, and that became a problem.” Hence, within a few days of their arrival in the UK, the doting parents reportedly changed Archie and Lilibet’s school.
