The new X-Men rumor for the upcoming MCU movie has sparked wild fan theories. The upcoming reboot will be directed by Jake Schreier, who previously helmed Thunderbolts*.
A new claim from Caleb Williams of Knight Edge Media suggests that Marvel Studios is reportedly looking for “young Native American & Latino actors” for a role in the Untitled X-Men movie. However, Williams also said he had “No idea on the character” details.
The scooper did point out that the rumored role could be related to “Indigenous mutants” such as “Forge, Warpath, Thunderbird or Latino mutants like Sunspot but I hope it’s a racebent Bobby Drake/Ice Man”
At the moment, fans should take the latest rumor with a grain of salt as Marvel has yet to confirm new X-Men cast members other than those already announced.
What could the new X-Men rumor mean for the MCU movie?
While it’s still early speculation, the X-Men rumor may suggest an expansion for the mutant team. It also somehow aligns with another recent rumor from Alex Perez of Cosmic Circus.
Perez made a claim that the Untitled X-Men movie won’t feature Wolverine and Magneto and would instead focus on a specific group of characters.
Notably, the rumored team members, according to Perez, include Jean Grey, Cyclops, Warren Worthington III, Beast, and Iceman who is also mentioned in the latest rumor.
If the scoop turns out true, Bobby Drake could make his MCU debut following Shawn Ashmore’s live-action portrayal of the character in Fox’s X-Men franchise. But again, it’s just an early speculation and should be taken with a strong caution until Marvel provides an official update on the full cast.
As for confirmed characters, Marvel Studios’ X-Men movie will feature Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Maya Boyd as Storm, Christopher Abbott as Charles Xavier/Professor X, and Kit Connor as Scott Summers/Cyclops, alongside Adam Driver as Nathaniel Milbury/Mister Sinister and Asa Germann as Angel/Warren Worthington III.
The Untitled X-Men film will hit theaters on May 5, 2028.
