In a new video, Meghan Markle gave a glimpse into her UK life with her husband, Prince Harry, and children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. A royal commentator has now called the move “striking” in its “hypocrisy,” considering the Sussexes’ claims of wanting privacy.
Royal expert Kinsey Schofield tells Meghan Markle to stop posting videos about UK life if ‘privacy is the priority’
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved back to the UK last month amid much speculation and criticism. The couple has often expressed their desire for privacy in their family life. However, the actress’ recent Instagram post seems to be contradicting that claim. While speaking to Page Six, royal expert Kinsey Schofield suggested that Markle should stop posting the kids if “privacy is the priority.”
“If privacy is genuinely the priority, the most effective strategy is simple… stop broadcasting your family life to millions of strangers,” she said. “Every hyper-curated glimpse of the children, the dogs, the countryside, and their domestic routine invites more attention, more questions, and more interest in where and how they are living. You cannot deliberately feed that machine and then act astonished or outraged when people want to know more.”
Schofield also pointed out Markle’s “hypocrisy” in posting her kids online after speaking out about the dangers social media poses to children. “Archie and Lili are too young to meaningfully consent to having their voices, activities, and private family moments broadcast to millions of strangers,” she said. “Hiding their faces does not suddenly eliminate the attention it generates around them.”
Elsewhere, the Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered podcast host also called out Prince Harry for supporting his wife’s social media moves despite making contradictory statements about the media harassment he faced as a child.
She noted how the Duke has previously highlighted the “damage” that media attention caused him when he was young, “yet he is now participating in packaging portions of his own children’s childhood for public consumption.” The expert advised, “You cannot spend years telling the world that unwanted attention traumatized you and then actively manufacture public interest in the private lives of your own children.”
