Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Make Sudden School Change for Archie & Lilibet — Report

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children, Archie and Lilibet, have reportedly switched schools amid security concerns. Earlier this month, they attended an undisclosed institution following their return to the UK. The Sussexes’ spokesperson expressed their gratitude to their children’s former school. They also clarified that the decision in no way reflects the school’s environment.

The Sussexes switched their children’s school after security concerns emerged on the commute

A spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared the reason with PEOPLE for what made them change their kids’ schools within a few days of joining. They said, “The decision for the children to move schools was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements.” They revealed that the Sussexes remain extremely appreciative of the care and love the school has shown them. The spokesperson also clarified that their decision is in no way linked to the school’s environment or the exceptional care the children received.

According to HELLO! Magazine, the security concerns had nothing to do with the school itself but rather with the commute to reach it. It reported that the school is far from the Sussexes’ current accommodation and that there is heavy traffic surrounding the institution.

The concerns grew further after a recent incident made it difficult for their vehicles to stay in convoy. It’s understood that during the summer, their bodyguards assessed the to-and-fro school journey. However, they were only able to evaluate the journey properly once the schools reopened and traffic returned to normal.

A friend told the outlet that Harry and Markle, plus the kids, really liked the school. They said that even the kids loved their experience there. While the Sussexes wanted to make an arrangement work, they couldn’t and had to make this hard decision to ensure their children’s safety.

According to an earlier The Times report, Markle and Harry had been discussing their UK return for a couple of years. However, a key factor that held them back was their kids’ acceptance into a certain school.
