King Charles Fears One Major Issue Could Affect Future Royals — Report

King Charles is reportedly concerned about how artificial intelligence could shape the lives of future generations of the royal family. The King is expected to host leaders from Nvidia, Anthropic, Google DeepMind and OpenAI in Scotland for discussions about the opportunities, risks and wider implications of rapidly developing AI.

A source suggests King Charles is reportedly ‘haunted’ by AI impacting his future generations

Sources told Radar Online that King Charles hopes the gathering will encourage a wider conversation about artificial intelligence. The King is also said to believe that rapid advances in AI could ultimately provide benefits for people and communities.

A royal source explained that Charles’ primary concern is “inheritance”: whether decisions taken by today’s tech leaders will impact the generations tomorrow. Furthermore, the insider elucidated: “He really is haunted by how AI could define future generations in the monarchy. Charles has grandchildren growing up in a society that will be transformed by artificial intelligence, and inevitably that makes these questions feel immediate.”

The King realizes that the wider implications of AI could have serious and irreversible repercussions, and he is taking this uncertainty very seriously. The source said that while the King is all-in for technological advances, they shouldn’t come at the cost of humanity. He hopes tech leaders developing these life-altering technologies are thinking of their responsibility towards people, communities, and future generations.

Among the prominent technology leaders expected to attend are Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Google DeepMind CEO Sir Demis Hassabis. IonQ chairman Niccolò de Masi and Paolo Benanti, an adviser to Pope Leo XIV, are also expected to attend. The gathering is being led by the Ditchley Foundation, which has prepared a draft charter for AI leaders.

Charles is expected to take an active role in the discussion rather than simply observe. The gathering will focus on encouraging AI development “for the good of humanity” while addressing the technology’s potential risks and broader impact on society.
