This allegedly created tension among them, with Harry’s friends calling him “f—— nuts” for being with someone who, in their view, had no sense of humor.
New book claims Prince Harry’s friends disapproved of Meghan Markle for a reason
Royal biographer Tom Bower claimed in his book that Prince Harry’s friends did not approve of his relationship with Meghan Markle. He made the claims in his book titled “Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War between the Windsors.”
In the book, he detailed an incident that took place long before the Sussexes’ relationship became public. Apparently, Markle accompanied Harry to a weekend gathering with his friends at Sandringham Estate. According to the author, many of the friends were from Harry’s time at Eton College.
Bower wrote that, like other shooting weekends, Harry was looking forward to an evening filled with countless jokes and plenty of fun. However, that reportedly did not happen because Markle openly challenged jokes she found offensive. Bower wrote, “According to some of Harry’s friends, again and again she reprimanded them about the slightest inappropriate nuance. Nobody was exempt.”
Bower further claimed that Markle’s behavior at the gathering left Harry’s friends unimpressed. They privately questioned why Harry was with her, with some reportedly saying, “Harry must be f****** nuts.”
A source told Radar Online that the issue wasn’t limited to just one weekend. Harry’s friends were used to the way they joked, talked, and behaved together. They had an established group dynamic. However, instead of trying to get to know the group and get along with them, Markle reportedly began challenging behavior she considered inappropriate.
Harry’s friends allegedly believed that she had no sense of humor. However, according to Markle, some of the things being said were unacceptable, which was why she felt the need to stop them. The source added, “It exposed a cultural and social divide very early in their relationship.”
