Kathy Griffin shares wild Barron Trump story involving Donald Trump
Comedian Kathy Griffin recently shared that she regularly receives a text from Donald Trump’s son, Barron, asking her to spare his father.
In 2017, Griffin did a photo shoot in which she held a bloody and gory mask in her hands that looked similar to the President’s face. The photo immediately went viral and sparked immense backlash, with Trump stating at that time that the image had affected Barron.
When Entertainment Weekly asked Griffin whether anyone still thought she wanted to harm Trump, she said, “Barron does.” She added, “He’ll send me a note once a month just saying, ‘Don’t kill my daddy.’ But, you know, Barron, he’s the sensitive one. What can I do?” The outlet has reached out to the White House to get a statement on Griffin’s claim.
After her photo shoot in 2017, Trump took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote, “Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself.” He said that his children, especially Barron, “were having a hard time” because of the disturbing photo. The comedian lost her sponsorship deals and was also removed as co-host of CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage. Although Griffin apologized right after, she later took back the apology and called out Trump as a “bully.”
According to an NBC News report, she also alleged that the circumstances she faced after the photo shoot wouldn’t have happened if she were a man. Griffin conveyed at that time, “I’m not afraid of Donald Trump.”
