A royal source informed Page Six that Prince William and Prince Harry will pay tributes to Princess Diana on her death anniversary. The brothers channeled their energies into “celebrating” Diana’s life and legacy. As per the source, they have decided against “drawing attention to the circumstances of her death.” August 31 remains a private day for William and Harry, who will reportedly not unite amid reports of a rift.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield spoke on the future monarch‘s initiative. He said he “has traditionally treated the anniversary of his mother’s death as something deeply solemn rather than an occasion for a public tribute.”
Schofield explained how William kept his mother’s memory alive at home by talking about Granny Diana to his children.
Furthermore, Harry previously confessed that he commemorates Diana’s birth and death anniversaries by enjoying her favorite, Lemon Drizzle Cake. However, Schofield warned that the rift between the brothers runs deep and that even their mother cannot reunite them.
Schofield dished: “[William] knows that the moment the two brothers were seen together, the story would immediately become a highly marketable narrative about Diana finally bringing her sons back together.”
Diana’s former royal butler Grant Harrold revealed the Princess of Wales would have hated seeing her sons fighting. Harrold explained on GB News Breakfast: “I mean, she’s a mother, and I’m sure … she would see both sides of the story from both the boys.” As per the royal butler, Diana would have listened to both sides of the story and asked the brothers to patch things up (via Radar Online).
