The full Rocky and Creed movie collections are set to leave Netflix and move to a new streaming platform. The lineup includes all nine films from the two franchises, covering the stories of Rocky Balboa and Adonis Creed.
When are Creed and Rocky movies coming to Paramount+?
The entire Creed and Rocky movie lineup is leaving Netflix at the end of August, with August 31 marking the final day to stream the films on the platform. However, fans will not have to wait long to watch them elsewhere.
According to a sneak peek from Paramount+, all nine movies will become available to stream on the service starting September 1, 2026.
The Rocky movies
The franchise’s story begins with Rocky, directed by John G. Avildsen and released on December 3, 1976. The film tells the story of Rocky Balboa, a struggling Philadelphia boxer whose life changes when he is given the opportunity to face heavyweight champion Apollo Creed. The unexpected title fight gives Rocky a chance to build himself in the boxing world.
Sylvester Stallone directed Rocky II, which arrived on June 15, 1979. The film picks up after the first film’s fight with Apollo, as financial and personal problems complicate Balboa’s life. He eventually agrees to face Apollo once again in a rematch.
Rocky III arrived on May 28, 1982, with Stallone again behind the camera. The title character is now a successful heavyweight champion, but his reign ends when Clubber Lang defeats him. The boxer also loses his longtime trainer Mickey, leaving him to turn to former rival Apollo Creed for help.
Rocky IV followed on November 27, 1985, again with Stallone directing. Apollo Creed faces Soviet boxer Ivan Drago in an exhibition match, but the fight ends with Apollo’s death. Balboa then travels to the Soviet Union and prepares to face Drago himself.
Avildsen returned to direct Rocky V, which was released on November 16, 1990. Rocky’s career comes to an end after he suffers brain damage, while a dishonest accountant leaves him financially ruined. Away from the ring, Rocky begins training a young boxer named Tommy Gunn.
The character returned years later in Rocky Balboa, directed by Stallone and released on December 20, 2006. The film centers on an older Balboa who comes out of retirement to take part in an exhibition match against the current heavyweight champion.
The Creed movies
The franchise continued with Creed, directed by Ryan Coogler and released on November 25, 2015. Adonis Johnson, Apollo Creed’s son, approaches Rocky Balboa for training as he attempts to build his own boxing career.
Steven Caple Jr.’s Creed II was released on November 21, 2018. Adonis, now the heavyweight champion, accepts a challenge from Viktor Drago, whose father, Ivan Drago, killed Apollo Creed in Rocky IV.
Michael B. Jordan took over directing duties for Creed III, which was released on March 3, 2023. The film follows Adonis as he faces Damian Anderson, a former childhood friend and boxing prodigy who returns after spending years in prison.
