Dr. Abdul El-Sayed‘s recent debate with Fox News anchor Jesse Watters may have started on a “wholesome” note, but the discussion quickly became a chaotic exchange between the duo. Their differing political ideologies resulted in the pair exchanging personal blows, with the Democratic nominee for US Senate in Michigan even asking if his counterpart was circumcised.
Abdul El-Sayed’s question to Fox News host has people talking
During his recent interview with Jesse Watters, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed passionately shared his views on several political topics, including immigration, taxes, as well as the Iran war.
However, the debate hit its boiling point when Watters asked El-Sayed, “Sex change for minors. Do you support that?” The former public health official responded, “I just think the government shouldn’t tell you what kind of healthcare you should have,” as per The Independent.
Watters followed his query with another blunt question, “So you think it’s okay for a parent to slash his kid’s ding-a-ling off?” The 41-year-old politician replied with a similar energy, stating, “Do you really want to have this conversation? Are you circumcised?”
“Yeah, but I mean that’s a personal question, doctor,” the Fox News host answered, adding that circumcision was completely “different than castration.” However, El-Sayed argued, “I’m just saying that yes, circumcision is surgery on a kid’s ding-a-ling.” Jesse Watters described Abdul El-Sayed’s statement as “wacky,” before noting, “Abdul, Michigan’s not going for that. That is sick stuff.”
Despite their heated discussion, Watters managed to calm things down by the end. He even lauded the Michigan politician for coming to his show in the first place. “I respect the fact that you came on,” he said. “I don’t think you’ve really looked into some of the policies you’re pushing. You seem a little naive, Abdul. I give you credit for facing the music, but some of the stuff’s just straight up wacky. I don’t know if that’s going to fly in Michigan, but we’re going to find out.”
Notably, Abdul El-Sayed is contesting the Senate seat from Michigan against Republican nominee and ex-Army and FBI veteran Mike Rogers.
