Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are allegedly moving back to the UK, but a biographer has predicted that the former actress might not like it. Six years after stepping down as senior royals and moving to California, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are returning to Britain.
Biographer predicts Meghan Markle’s UK return might not work
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left the UK in 2020 to pave their own path in California. Their claims about members of the British royal family ultimately led to their estrangement from them.
The Sussexes reconciled with King Charles III and Queen Camilla last month. In a surprising turn of events, they are now returning to the UK with their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. They are reportedly planning to make their new home in the Cotswolds.
Royal biographer Andrew Lownie has predicted that Markle might not like the quieter life of the Cotswolds. During his appearance on the August 21 episode of The Daily T podcast, he said, “I can’t see Meghan enjoying a Cotswolds winter with the rain coming down, and her mother a long way away. So I just can’t see this working.”
Lownie also reflected on the shift in the dynamic between Harry and Meghan regarding their plan to return. He said, “I think it’s a really interesting dynamic because we’ve always thought that Harry was under the thumb of Meghan and that it wasn’t much give and take there. And now there seems to be an understanding that he, you know, he wants his children to have a British education. He wants to come back to his friends. I think he’s felt very isolated in California.”
Since Archie and Lilibet will start British school in September, the Sussexes are likely to return to Britain by the end of this month. So far, Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace have not commented on their return.
