The upcoming PlayStation 5 remaster of a classic and fan-favorite shooter has locked its release date. Originally launched in 1998, the game grew into a highly popular title over nearly 30 years.
SiN: Reloaded, the enhanced version of the cult-classic FPS game, SiN, is set to release on September 24, 2026, for various platforms, including PlayStation 5. The new version comes from the development team at Nightdive Studios, a subsidiary of Atari.
SiN: Reloaded is going to offer enhanced visuals, modernized control schemes, the Wages of SiN extra mission pack, and more.
What to expect from SiN: Reloaded when it releases?
The original SiN shooter game was known to push the Quake II engine to its limits. It also became a trendsetter as it featured a cinematic plot, scripted sequences, non-linear game design, interactive environments, complex maps, and dynamic enemy reactions.
As for SiN: Reloaded, it will put players in control of security consultant Colonel John R. Blade. In the story, they will go against his arch nemesis Doctor Elexis Sinclaire.
The official description for SiN: Reloaded reads, “When Elexis, CEO of SinTEK Industries, begins injecting the streets with a DNA-altering drug, it’s time to reassess the laws of morality by facing off against Elexis’ unholy army of genetically-engineered mutants.”
SiN: Reloaded will offer the original SiN and the SiN: Wages of Sin mission pack, fully optimized using the KEX engine. Players will be able to enjoy beautifully remastered graphics with HD textures and models up to a resolution of 4K at 144 FPS, with anti-aliasing and upgraded 2D screens and menu art.
Players will also get to hunt trophies in a captivating way, thanks to brand-new achievements.
The game will include improved maps alongside the option of switching between remastered visuals and the original SiN Gold version to evoke a feeling of nostalgia. Plus, there will be a vault with exclusive, behind-the-scenes material for diehard fans.
