Her absence has prompted questions about her whereabouts, after the President was recently seen with White House aide Natalie Harp.

Melania Trump’s absence from recent public events has led to growing questions about the first lady’s whereabouts. Her limited visibility has become particularly noticeable as Donald Trump continues to make frequent public appearances. This includes events where White House aide Natalie Harp has been present.
In a post on his Howl Substack newsletter, Wolff claimed that Melania avoided appearances with Trump when Harp was present. He wrote, “Melania, whose appearances with her husband were carefully negotiated and choreographed, would not show up if Harp was around.” Wolff added, “Since Harp was always around, Melania never was—appearing with her husband only in the last week of the campaign.”
Wolff also described Harp as having a prominent position within Trump’s inner circle. “Harp superseded the White House staff and, as well, his wife and family. Nobody got between Harp and Trump. And you only got to Trump by going through Harp,” he wrote. The claims have drawn additional attention because of Melania’s relatively small number of public appearances. According to The Daily Beast, she appeared publicly 47 times after Trump’s 2025 inauguration and on 38 days during the first seven months of 2026.
Despite spending less time in the public eye, Melania has continued to pursue projects through her office. She has been involved in efforts to reunite children separated from their families by the Russia-Ukraine war. According to the New York Post, she helped reunite another Ukrainian child with their family. In the same report, it stated that she has helped bring 34 families together.
