Hollywood Arts builds on the legacy of Victorious with a new Netflix chapter

Hollywood Arts brings back Daniella Monet as Trina Vega from Victorious. She is the older sister of Victoria Justice’s Tori Vega, the protagonist of the original Nickelodeon sitcom. The show’s upcoming spin-off follows Trina as she returns to her former high school, Hollywood Arts, as a substitute teacher, where she meets a new generation of eccentric talents and ambitious artists.

The spin-off comes 13 years after Victorious aired its final season. The show was a pop culture phenomenon that featured multiple prominent stars. This included Ariana Grande, Avan Jogia, Leon Thomas III, and more.

Discussing Trina’s new role as a teacher in Hollywood Arts, star Daniella Monet told Teen Vogue, “Not everyone has to be this huge star to understand what it takes.” She continued, “Trina’s not afraid to go for it. That’s a really great skill when it comes to opening up the minds of kids who are looking to explore their own talents.”

Farrow further reflected, “I love that Trina stays true to the character that she always was. But she’s grown up, and there’s a little bit of character rehab going on. She’s matured, and she’s become a better and more likable person.”

In addition to Monet, Hollywood Arts stars Alyssa Miles, Peyton Jackson, Martin Kamm, Emmy Liu-Wang, Erika Swayze, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Eric Lange.
