Super Troopers 4 could happen, but the franchise’s future will depend on one condition. Director and star Jay Chandrasekhar has confirmed that another film remains possible based on the performance of the latest film. The recent comments leave the door open for the familiar group of troopers to return for another adventure.
Broken Lizard already has Super Troopers 4 on the table
Broken Lizard is already considering a fourth Super Troopers movie, though its development depends on how the latest chapter performs financially. Jay Chandrasekhar, who has directed each of the franchise’s three movies and plays Thorny, confirmed that another sequel remains a possibility. He indicated that Super Troopers 3 was not necessarily designed as the final chapter.
“I think it could always be possible. I mean, NYPD Blue had 200 episodes of their cop show, and Police Academy did 11 of them, I believe, so you know, if this movie does well financially, then the fourth one is in play,” Chandrasekhar told ComicBook.com. The comments came as Chandrasekhar, Paul Soter, Kevin Heffernan, Erik Stolhanske and Steve Lemme discussed the possibility of making more Super Troopers films.
In Super Troopers 3, the familiar group of Thorny, Rabbit, Mac, Foster and Farva reunites for another adventure. The latest story centers on Farva’s engagement to Sarita, Thorny’s sister. Thorny strongly opposes the relationship and wants to prevent the wedding, while the group also becomes involved with a dangerous crime ring.
Chandrasekhar returns as Senior Trooper Arcot “Thorny” Ramathorn, with Kevin Heffernan playing Farva, Paul Soter portraying Carl Foster, Erik Stolhanske as Robert “Rabbit” Roto, and Steve Lemme as MacIntyre “Mac” Womack. The film’s cast also includes Marisa Coughlan as Ursula Hansen, Brian Cox as Captain John O’Hagen, and Hannah Simone as Sarita, among others. The film was released on August 7, 2026.
