Seinfeld’s New Streaming Deal Reveals When It Could Leave Netflix

Seinfeld’s streaming future has officially been secured for years to come. New licensing agreements reveal how long the iconic sitcom will remain available on Netflix and Paramount’s cable networks.

Seinfeld isn’t leaving Netflix for at least half a decade

Variety reported that Seinfeld has renewed its licensing agreement with Netflix. The beloved sitcom will remain on the streamer for another five years. The show has also extended its deal with Paramount for three more years across Comedy Central, TV Land and other cable networks.

Sony Pictures Television originally signed streaming and cable agreements in 2019 with Netflix and Viacom. All 180 episodes first arrived on Netflix and Comedy Central in 2021. Financial terms of the new renewals were not disclosed.

The series continues to attract massive audiences decades after its 1989 debut. Seinfeld reached 60 million Americans in the first half of 2026 alone, according to Nielsen. That figure represents viewers exposed to at least one minute of the show on streaming or linear TV.

Keith Le Goy, chairman of Sony Pictures Television, praised the show’s lasting appeal. “Seinfeld’ is one of the most iconic and enduring series in television history, and we’re thrilled to continue our successful partnerships with both Netflix and Paramount to bring this remarkable series to audiences around the world,” Le Goy said. He added that the show “demonstrates that exceptional intellectual property stands the test of time.”

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos also celebrated the renewal. “The show famously about nothing is in fact, everything, and we’re proud to be the streaming home of Seinfeld, one of the greatest comedies in the history of TV,” Sarandos said. George Cheeks, chair of TV media at Paramount, called the sitcom foundational to their programming strategy. “This renewal reinforces our commitment to delivering fan-favorite series that audiences love,” Cheeks said.
