Comedian and actor Matt Rife is being haunted by followers of a paranormal investigator after a mean-spirited Instagram response.
Rife posted a video on the social media platform with his collaborator, Elton Castee, to promote an event at the Haunted Warren Museum. Under the post, the paranormal expert Chris Mac commented a lengthy text about the Salem Witch Trials, according to TMZ.
In response, the comedian allegedly called Mac a “lifeless douchebag” who needs to “remove himself from earth.” He also spoke about selling “thousands of tickets” for the event and blocked the investigator “into nonexistence.”
Mac took to Facebook and responded to the comment by saying, “Now am going move forward with all this nonsense garbage what Matt said and Elton Castee control your mentor Matt or get Matt therapy I don’t want ever ever want see Matt bully a person with autism again do I make myself clear not ok to say with a person with autism I have autism.”
Furthermore, a source close to Rife told the outlet that the comedian is being relentlessly bullied in the comment section of the post with “vile” remarks. Moreover, they added that the 30-year-old responds to the trolls, and then the trolls delete their comments, noting that there is “context missing” from the exchange between Matt Rife and Chris Mac because the comments are deleted.
As per the above-mentioned report, there is no evidence in the comments that the American artist knew the paranormal investigator had autism.
Matt Rife gives a shoutout to the new Super Troopers film on Instagram
Although the aforementioned exchange happened a week ago, Rife’s most recent post shows him collaborating with the stars of Super Troopers 3.
In his recent post, he gave the third installment of the franchise a shoutout by acting in a skit with Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme. In the skit, Rife “hires” the Vermont troopers as his guards, but the two are seen munching on his snacks.
This collaboration was made to promote both Searchlight Pictures and Matt Rife’s upcoming movies. Super Troopers 3 was released in theaters on August 7, while the latter’s comedy, Rolling Loud: The Movie, will hit theaters on October 2, 2026.
