Non-Stop, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, arrived in U.S. theaters on February 28, 2014. The film follows Federal Air Marshal Bill Marks, a former police officer struggling with alcoholism after the death of his daughter.
During a journey from New York to London, he begins receiving anonymous messages demanding a $150 million transfer to an offshore account, with the sender warning that a passenger will be killed every 20 minutes if the demand is ignored. Neeson leads the cast as Bill Marks, with Julianne Moore portraying Jen Summers. The film’s supporting cast also includes Scoot McNairy as Tom Bowen, Michelle Dockery as Nancy, Nate Parker as Zack White, and Corey Stoll as Austin Reilly, among others.
Non-Stop earned mixed critical reviews but proved to be a commercial success during its theatrical run. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a 62 percent Tomatometer based on 227 reviews, while audiences have given it a 63 percent score. Kofi Outlaw of Screen Rant reported, “Kick your seat back, let that tray table down, turn off the overhead light (your brain) and let this plane carry you to your destination.”
According to Box Office Mojo, the thriller earned $222.8 million worldwide in theaters. This includes more than $92 million from domestic markets and over $130 million from international territories.
