A royal expert has reportedly urged Prince Harry to stop acting like a “working royal” following his recent UK visit. The Duke of Sussex traveled to mark the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, but the trip was overshadowed by security concerns that prevented Meghan Markle and their children from joining him.
Royal expert alleges Prince Harry made his UK trip a ‘circus’
Royal expert Emily Andrews has reportedly slammed Prince Harry for making his UK trip into a “circus.” Discussing the issue with Woman and Home magazine, she said: “The drama with Prince Harry shows no sign of abating or calming down. His hoped-for family reunion unravelled into an unseemly row over who said what, when, where people could stay, and why exactly he feels unsafe in the UK.”
Andrews also added that while she is no security expert, this definitely seems like an “overreaction.” Furthermore, the royal expert accused the Prince of turning his Britain trip into a “circus” with his “dithering, paranoia, and indecision.”
Andrews said, “For me, it was trying to combine the two things – his family and his work – that has proved so difficult. He is no longer a working royal. And so can’t act like one.”
However, the royal expert softened her stance against the Duke of Sussex and sympathised with him. She stated that his “paranoid” feelings about his security in the UK are because of the “lasting trauma” of the death of his mother, the late Princess Diana.
The royal expert stated, “He genuinely believes his wife and children aren’t safe in the UK without guards armed with guns. Even the offer of accommodation at Buckingham Palace and ‘safe passage’ in and out wasn’t good enough.”
The Sussexes eventually met King Charles and Queen Camilla at the monarch’s private residence, Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, on July 10. The King was reportedly happy to meet his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet.
