Training camp at Missouri Western State in St. Joseph, Missouri, is now underway as Travis Kelce and Kansas City begin preparations for the 2026 NFL season. The tight end showed up looking sharp and fit, even after an eventful offseason headlined by his high-profile nuptials to Taylor Swift.
During Wednesday’s media session, Andy Reid took a playful jab at how Kelce managed to stay game-ready all offseason. “He stayed in shape. He did a lot of dancing at his wedding,” Reid joked to the press.
Days after the nuptials, Reid had praised the festivities and credited Swift for handling every detail. According to PEOPLE‘s Ashlyn Robinette, he described the wedding as spectacular. The head coach also praised Swift for organizing a well-planned event, adding that most grooms don’t handle the planning.
With the wedding festivities behind him, football is front and center for Travis Kelce again as he hits practice and reconnects with Patrick Mahomes. In March, the 36-year-old signed a one-year, $12 million contract to return to the team for another title run. His goal is to help deliver another Lombardi Trophy to the Chiefs.
The Kansas City Chiefs aim to reestablish themselves among the AFC’s top teams after falling to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LX and missing the playoffs the next year.
The Chiefs kick off the preseason against the Los Angeles Rams on August 15, 2026. Week 1 brings a home matchup with the Denver Broncos on September 14, 2026.
