Queen Camilla’s rivalry with Kate Middleton was reportedly because of “planted stories.” Recently, a Woman’s Day report mentioned author Christopher Andersen’s new book, “Kate! The Courage, Grace, And Power Of The Woman Who Will Be Queen.”
In it, he addressed the major issue between the current and the future queens. “Camilla’s allies were planting stories in the press implying that Kate was something of a shirker – that she wasn’t pulling her weight,” the book stated.
Furthermore, it was explained that Middleton had performed fewer royal duties than others. Hence, Camilla might have thought of her as someone who might evade their work. However, the Princess of Wales had allegedly made it clear that she would prioritize her children.
Reportedly, the 79-year-old’s perception of Middleton allegedly changed. She seemed to be “grateful” to Prince William’s wife for always “cheering up” King Charles. Her husband is always said to be Camilla’s number one priority. Therefore, Middleton’s behavior towards him meant a lot to the queen.
Meanwhile, the author also clarified that this didn’t mean Camilla and Middleton developed a “genuine affection.” It is said to be more of “respect” for each other. Moreover, the queen’s relationship with William has reportedly never been close. Despite his initial objection to Charles marrying Camilla, Anderson mentioned that William later understood that they were a “genuine love match.”
