According to Rob Shuter, Blake Lively has lost VIP perks without Taylor Swift’s friendship. Insiders told the outlet that the “Gossip Girl” star continues to receive invitations to the industry’s biggest events.
This includes award shows, NFL games, and the World Cup Final. However, she allegedly lost access to the privileges that come with these invitations. “Blake is absolutely still getting invited,” one Hollywood insider told the outlet.
However, without the pop icon, she’s no longer automatically getting the best seats, the most exclusive lounges, or the kind of VIP treatment that came with being part of Taylor’s inner circle. At the World Cup Final, insiders noticed that Lively was seated away from the headline-making celebrity section.
“Taylor’s world operates on another level,” another source stated. They continued, “Being one of her closest friends meant front-row seats, invitation-only parties, and access to the most influential people in music, sports, fashion, and Hollywood.”
The source further added, “Those opportunities don’t automatically follow you once you’re outside that circle.” Moreover, sources noted that Lively remains a successful actress with an outstanding career and numerous powerful connections.
Nevertheless, they claim that the shift hasn’t gone unnoticed. An insider explained, “She’s still a celebrity and she’ll always get invited.” However, “there’s a difference between being a VIP and being Taylor Swift’s VIP.” The insider added, “Hollywood notices those little details, and so does everyone watching.”
Recently, it was reported that Lively was upset about not being invited to Swift’s wedding. “Blake did her best to hold her head high throughout all this and act as though it was just any other weekend,” a source close to the actress told Heat World. However, things were “absolutely devastating for her” and “forced her to accept that this chapter of her life really is over.”
