Alan Ritchson’s Reacher Season 5 Release Date Update Hints at Quicker Turnaround

Alan Ritchson has shared an exciting update about Season 5 of the hit Prime Video series Reacher. This comes ahead of the release of Season 4, which is slated to debut on August 12, 2026.

Alan Ritchson’s Reacher Season 5 has already begun filming ahead of Season 4

Ritchson recently took to Instagram to reveal that Reacher Season 5 has already started production. He posted a video with the caption, “A very special day.” In it, he noted, “Good morning, my little angels. It’s time to rise and shine. It’s very early where I am, so don’t talk about how tired I look. I’m human too. The sun is not even out yet.” He disclosed that they got up for a “very special day,” adding, “It’s day one of shooting Reacher Season 5. That’s right. We are back, baby.”

Reacher is one of Prime Video’s biggest hits to date, and the streaming service announced Season 5 was happening in May 2026.

Amazon MGM Studios’ Head of Global Television, Peter Friedlander, said in a statement at the time, “From Lee Child’s globally beloved novels to its standout on-screen adaptation, Reacher has evolved into a true powerhouse franchise. The series’ ability to combine high-octane action with compelling character storytelling continues to resonate with tens of millions of viewers around the world. We’re excited to move forward with a fifth season ahead of Season 4’s debut and to build on this incredible momentum” (via Deadline).

Notably, it remains unclear which entry in Lee Child’s original book series Season 5 will adapt. Previously, Ritchson stated that the production of the fifth season would take most of the year from now on. Accordingly, fans can expect it to come out sometime in the latter half of 2027, about a year after the release of Season 4 and the Reacher spin-off, Neagley. This timeline may have now moved up as per Ritchson’s latest update.
