‘It Was Terrible’: Megyn Kelly Trashes Madonna, BTS & Justin Bieber’s World Cup Show

Megyn Kelly has slammed Madonna, BTS, and Justin Bieber for their 2026 FIFA World Cup show performances. In a blunt take, the reputed journalist called it “terrible,” criticizing the entire show. The World Cup final between Spain and Argentina made history with the event’s first official halftime show, pulling in millions of viewers globally.

Megyn Kelly doesn’t know if Madonna can ‘still sing’ after World Cup’s halftime show

The World Cup halftime show was meant to be one of the tournament’s marquee entertainment moments, bringing together major global names. But not everyone was impressed.

In the latest episode of The Megyn Kelly Show, host Megyn Kelly sided with critics of the halftime show. “It was terrible,” she said. The host noted that the “Material Girl” hitmaker opened with “Music” from 2000, a song she enjoyed and associated with her first marriage 26 years ago. But according to Kelly, Madonna was lip-syncing, and the choreography was weak.

“Lip syncing, of course, because again, we have no idea whether she can still sing. And the dancing was lame, too… [It looked like] she was squatting and writhing because that is her thing these days,” added the 55-year-old.

After Madonna, the commentator turned her criticism to BTS. She acknowledged that the group is hugely popular and that she understands the fandom. However, Kelly said that their performance felt flat. The lip-syncing and dancing, she noted, “looked like a college boy band imitating BTS.”

Next up was Justin Bieber, who did an acoustic take on “Everything Hallelujah.” While she called it a “beautiful song for Christians,” the media personality explained that it was the wrong choice for the World Cup. According to her, the performance dragged the energy down. “It’s a ballad…and too sad, too slow, too somber [for the event],” she highlighted. “It brought the mood down.”

Wrapping up, Megyn Kelly credited Shakira with saving the halftime show. She said that the “Waka Waka” hitmaker delivered with the perfect vibe and song, and looked incredible. “I cannot believe she is 49 years old. She was moving around like she was 29 years old,” Kelly praised.
