Meghan Markle & Prince Harry’s Reputation in Question After UK Trip — Expert

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly faced fresh questions about their reputations after their latest UK visit. The Duchess of Sussex was assessed through a PR lens after a royal trip. A new expert claim said that one appearance alone could not rebuild public trust. The report framed their challenge in terms of consistency and avoiding new controversy. That claim followed a closely watched royal trip. It also treated the visit as one step, not a reset.

Expert claims Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s reputation cannot be rebuilt with one UK visit

As per an Express report, PR expert Renae Smith assessed the Sussexes. Smith founded PR and branding agency The Atticism. She said, “Reputations are rebuilt through repeated behaviour over long periods of time.” Smith added they are built “not one well-managed visit.” The outlet said their popularity had fallen after the 2020 royal exit. It cited the Netflix show “Harry & Meghan” and the duke’s memoir “Spare.” It framed both as part of the public backdrop.

Meanwhile, Smith said consistency was the main issue. She said, “The challenge for Harry and Meghan has always been consistency.” The expert added, “Just when things begin to settle,” something usually pulls them “back into controversy.” For context, Express cited a May YouGov survey. It said Prince Harry had a 33% approval rating. Meghan Markle stood at 22% in Britain. A June YouGov America poll put her favorability at 27%.

Still, the expert did not dismiss the visit. Smith said, “The real question isn’t whether this trip was successful.” Smith added, “In the PR world, yes, it was.” However, she said the test was whether they could “repeat this approach another ten times.” The outlet said their recent approach had eased earlier public claims. At the same time, their wider reputation remained under review. For the Sussexes, the expert’s point was direct. One trip could help, but repeated behavior would decide the result.
