The Duchess of Sussex and the kids joined Prince Harry separately during the family’s recent trip to the UK. During the visit, the Sussexes were subject to strict security protocols. These included no joint photo calls or public appearances alongside other working royals.

Meghan Markle’s reunion with the royals reportedly fell short of what she hoped.
“One gets the sense that, from Meghan’s perspective, the reunion with Charles and Camilla wasn’t entirely warm and fuzzy,” author Christopher Andersen revealed to Page Six in a recent interview.
However, a palace source disputed the royal expert’s account, asking how he could be privy to a “private family-only meeting.”
Earlier this month marked the first time in four years that Prince Harry and Markle joined their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, to see King Charles and Queen Camilla. It was also the family’s first gathering since the 77-year-old monarch shared his cancer news.
On the subject of their two children, a source told Women’s Day, according to the Daily Express, that Archie and Lilibet were “totally awestruck” when they met the King and Queen at Highgrove House.
According to Buckingham Palace, the reunion took place at Highgrove House, the King’s private residence in Gloucestershire. However, official photos of the visit aren’t likely to be released. The last time King Charles was with his grandkids was back in 2022 for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
But the visit hasn’t been trouble-free.
The Sussexes were not granted taxpayer-funded security because they are non-working royals. The Palace also withdrew the invitation to the royal residence, with sources citing the late confirmation, which complicated staffing and logistics.
Additionally, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly underwent strict security screenings before the tightly controlled reunion. The measures were tied to ongoing concerns about privacy and worries that private family discussions could be leaked.
