Meghan Markle Hit With Brutal Backlash as ‘MasterChef Australia’ Debate Explodes — Report

Meghan Markle has been facing backlash for her appearance on “MasterChef Australia.” A couple of days ago, it was confirmed by Channel 10 that the Duchess of Sussex has filmed a surprise guest appearance in one episode of season 18. Since then, critics have slammed the “Suits” alum for allegedly abusing her title. Reportedly, she has become a “laughing stock” for this move.

Meghan Markle reportedly criticized by critics over MasterChef Australia appearance

Meghan Markle reportedly received scrutiny over her “MasterChef Australia” appearance. Channel 10 confirmed that she would be a surprise guest on the July 26 episode. She would seemingly challenge the contestants to create a “dish fit for a Duchess” using seasonal ingredients. This seemed to have irked critics who have criticized her for two reasons,” according to RadarOnline.

They have noted that Markle has continued to use her title even after stepping down from royal duties in 2020. Furthermore, she faced backlash for her kitchen skills after her onion-chopping technique surfaced online.

A source told the outlet that the “timing” seemed to be “worse” from a “PR perspective.” It’s because she has reportedly been criticized for “leaning on her royal title” ahead of her “MasterChef Australia” gig.

“Add to that the viral jokes about her onion-chopping technique and supposed lack of kitchen know-how, and it’s created the perfect storm. Her critics think the contrast is impossible to ignore, which is why they’re already treating the episode as something of a punchline before it’s even aired,” they said.

Moreover, another insider claimed that Markle should reportedly stop accepting and building projects “around the prestige” that comes with her royal title. They justified their stance by reminding that Markle and Prince Harry had stepped down from their royal duties in 2020. Additionally, her onion-cutting parody footage has allegedly raised questions over her cooking skills.

Meanwhile, Markle’s episode on “MasterChef Australia” will air on Sunday, July 26, on Channel 10.
