During a video interview for Wired, Holland read the questions related to The Odyssey movie and its source material. Among them, one question was whether Zendaya’s Athena loved Matt Damon’s Odysseus romantically. He immediately responded with a “No,” before adding “because she’s married to me.” His answer was received with a good laugh from Damon, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson. Damon then called it a good answer.
Holland later moved on to another question, which was about the reason behind Athena choosing Odysseus. Without giving away the key mystery and maintaining the suspense, Damon said, “This is difficult in the context of our movie without giving things away. Because does Athena choose Odysseus or does Odysseus choose Athena?” He then added, “Spoiler alert. That’s all we can say.”
In the movie, Athena is a Greek goddess who serves as a divine protector and guide to Odysseus to help him return home to his wife Penelope and son Telemachus to Ithaca. She shows up in his visions.
Last month, the Uncharted actor addressed the AI wedding photos while subtly confirming having tied the knot with Zendaya in an interview with Esquire. He revealed that his grandma came across the fake wedding photos and believed that she wasn’t invited. The interviewer asked whether he was then required to send everyone a message to clarify. Holland said no, stating that they were all present at the wedding. He was further asked to share some more details about his private wedding, but he refused to answer the question.
