A new rumor claims Marvel‘s X-Men reboot has assembled a roster of seven major mutants to launch a new era. Naturally, fans are wondering whether Wolverine is one of them.
X-Men reboot’s rumored roster teases which mutants will appear
Industry scooper @ApocHorseman took to X to claim that Cyclops, Jean Grey, Emma Frost, Rogue, Storm, Professor X, and Magneto will “for sure” appear in the MCU X-Men reboot. @ApocHorseman added, “Characters I’ve heard but haven’t been able to confirm are Beast and Angel so please take those with a grain of salt.”
In the comment section of the above-mentioned post, the scooper clarified, “This is just who I’ve heard is in the film and can verify. There’s definitely more characters, and this isn’t the full lineup. Marvel’s good at keeping some secrets.”
Notably, Marvel hasn’t officially confirmed any of these claims.
The X-Men reboot remains one of the most eagerly anticipated and talked-about projects within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige first teased the project at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con. Marvel officially began taking writer pitches for the film in late 2023, eventually hiring Michael Lesslie (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) to pen the screenplay.
While it’s unclear whether the aforementioned mutants will appear in the X-Men reboot, rumors have heavily circulated that select legacy actors from the 20th Century Fox universe might return in upcoming Avengers films. This includes Ian McKellen’s Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto, James Marsden’s Scott Summers / Cyclops, Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier / Professor X, and Kelsey Grammer’s Hank McCoy / Beast. Additionally, Grammer and Stewart have already made brief multiverse appearances in the MCU. Meanwhile, Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine made his massive MCU debut in Deadpool & Wolverine. However, Marvel has kept its long-term plans for both Jackman and the iconic mutant under wraps.
