Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s recent visit to the UK seems to have greatly reduced the gap between the couple and King Charles, according to sources close to the British royal family. However, their supposed happy reunion appears to depend on a crucial condition on Prince Harry’s part, which many have deemed unfeasible.
Prince Harry reportedly needs to stay ‘quiet’ about King Charles meeting
Last week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex landed in the UK, along with their two children, to commemorate this year’s Invictus Games events. In addition to this, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their family also visited King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, reuniting Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet with their grandparents after four years.
Royal biographer Andrew Lownie described their meeting as the potential “beginning of the great reunion” between the two families, as per The Daily Express. However, he added that such dynamics would sustain only if their encounter remains “a personal family matter.”
Talking with Jeremy Kyle on TalkTV, Lownie noted, “It came off pretty well. But it all now depends on whether Harry’s side begins to leak stories. I hope they’ve learnt the lesson that on some things, they’re better [off] keeping quiet…Previous examples show they just can’t resist.”
In response to this, Kyle noted that he “didn’t trust” the couple and believes that the Sussexes will find a way to leverage their meeting with the royal family to gain public “adulation.”
“Brand Sussex needs a boost, and the only boost they can get is to have some connection with the very entity that they spend their lives slagging off,” the English broadcaster remarked. He added, “Without photographs or how it went or a little bit of inside info through another source, how is this going to benefit them?”
