Donald Trump Faces Fresh Iran Threat Claim as Israel Shares Assassination Intel — Report

Israel has reportedly handed Washington new intelligence pointing to an active Iranian plot to assassinate Donald Trump. The alert lands as Tehran publicly had revenge calls over the killing of their supreme leader.

Israel’s Iran warning puts Trump assassination fears back in focus, claims report

Sources told The Wall Street Journal that Israeli officials shared specific intelligence indicating Iran had developed a renewed plan to target Donald Trump. The White House hasn’t commented on the intelligence but has directed attention to remarks the president made on Wednesday.

There, he publicly addressed threats against his life. “They want to take out the U.S. leader—me,” Trump told reporters in Ankara. “I’m on every list. I saw this morning, I’m on every single one of their lists. And so far, I guess I’ve been a little bit lucky, but that maybe doesn’t last very long.” The Israeli embassy in Washington also has not commented on the reported intelligence sharing. Iran’s mission to the United Nations also did the same.

However, Iran has openly vowed for years to avenge the 2020 killing of Qassem Soleimani, the powerful Quds Force commander who died in a US drone strike ordered by Trump during his first term. Tehran has consistently denied any active plot against the president, yet Washington has tracked possible threats from Iranian sources ever since.

Now, the Israeli alert surfaces while Washington and Jerusalem navigate a growing rift. Benjamin Netanyahu wants to sustain military strikes on Iran. Trump has pushed for de-escalation, warning that a widening war could wreck the global economy. A tentative US-Iran ceasefire took hold last month. On Thursday, Netanyahu’s office confirmed the two leaders spoke and pledged continued “coordination between the countries.”

At a massive funeral procession for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran on Monday, mourners hoisted a banner declaring “We Will Kill Trump.” Others pelted stones at a billboard that depicted Trump with a bullet centred on his forehead. Women clad in black chadors lifted red placards reading “KILL TRUMP.” Crowds torched American flags and strung up an effigy of the president.
