King Charles was reportedly not willing to be pushed around anymore by Prince Harry. According to The Sun, the 77-year-old monarch’s “patience snapped” ahead of the duke’s UK arrival. Reportedly, Charles had offered to arrange Harry and his family’s stay at the palace multiple times. It was alleged that the second son didn’t agree with the terms and conditions and formally denied the offer.
It was said that last Friday was the deadline, and Harry continued to decline the offer till Saturday morning. Soon after, reports surfaced online that Meghan Markle and their kids were not joining Harry on his UK trip. Furthermore, sources claimed that the “Spare” author’s decision changed a few hours later on the same day. He allegedly asked for royal residency for one night.
This reportedly annoyed Charles, who declined his son’s request. “He wants to be a loving father and grandfather, but that was being tested beyond endurance. He is not willing to be pushed around, nor to indulge in a constant state of chaos,” a royal aide told the outlet.
According to the report, the king denied Harry because “a minimum level of notice as a courtesy to staff” is required. Therefore, Meghan Markle’s husband was informed that it was “too late” to make arrangements for his stay.
Moreover, some insiders close to the Sussexes allegedly questioned the palace’s offer. They wondered whether it was “genuine.” Meanwhile, Harry has arrived in his homeland for the Invictus Games. It was still not confirmed whether his wife and kids would join him this week.
