Sydney Sweeney could reportedly be the reason for the return of “Euphoria.” According to a source, the three seasons featured the deaths of several important characters. However, the finale gave Sweeney a satisfying open ending, which seemingly means the creator can work with her character. For those unversed, the psychological drama starred big names like Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, and Sweeney. The third season ended in May 2026.
Source shares why Sydney Sweeney could carry another season of ‘Euphoria’
Sydney Sweeney’s star power might be enough to bring back “Euphoria” even after three seasons. A source told In Touch Weekly that HBO could allegedly “revive” this popular drama. “They know how to squeeze every drop of value out of a show or a piece of source material, and there are clearly more stories to tell,” they said.
According to the insider, creator Sam Levinson could “build another season” around Sweeney’s character, Cassie. He left her story with an open ending where Cassie is set on a “new adventure in Hollywood.” Reportedly, the screenwriter could “form the core” of season 4 around this storyline. It would seemingly allow Levinson to continue one of his most successful works.
Furthermore, the source noted that Sweeney might not have been a known celebrity when “Euphoria” was first released in 2019. But now, she has become a “big enough star” who could carry one more season of the hit drama.
Meanwhile, they also highlighted Levinson’s career graph, hinting that he should avoid “another high-profile failure” like “The Idol.” “If he gets ideas for more seasons, especially if he plans to focus on Sydney, he’s going to get a big fat yes from HBO,” they claimed.
For those unversed, the Hollywood actress was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2022 for “Euphoria.” She bagged another nomination at the same award show for her performance in another hit series, “The White Lotus.”
