A new report suggests King Charles and Prince William may be at odds over Prince Harry once again. Insiders claim the King’s attempt to rebuild ties with his younger son has left the older one deeply unhappy. While Charles is said to be prioritizing reconciliation, William reportedly remains focused on protecting the institution after years of public disputes. The alleged clash reflects two very different views on how the Royal Family should move forward.
Prince William has been feeling furious about King Charles’ reported decision, claims source
Prince William is apparently furious over King Charles‘ gesture toward Prince Harry. As per reports, the offer included a stay at Buckingham Palace and security arrangements during Harry’s U.K. visit. Now, sources claim the move has reopened old wounds within the family.
Charles is reportedly focused on rebuilding his relationship with Harry. However, insiders allege William believes the gesture comes too soon. The alleged offer could also have allowed Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to spend time in Britain, potentially allowing the monarch to see his youngest grandchildren after several years.
However, according to one insider, King Charles has no intention of changing course. “From Charles’ point of view, he won’t be dictated to by anyone, least of all his own son,” the source claimed (via Heat Magazine). The person further alleged that Charles views William’s stance as “immature” and totally “out of step.”
That, in turn, has seemingly only intensified the Prince of Wales’ frustration. According to the same source, William still harbors deep resentment toward the Sussexes. “He’s literally unable to contain his temper and resentment when it comes to the Sussexes,” the insider alleged. The person went on to claim that seeing Charles “rolling out the red carpet” for Harry is “his very worst nightmare imaginable.”
Meanwhile, another palace insider suggested William’s concerns are not limited to the current visit. The source claimed trust remains “badly damaged” after Harry’s television interviews, the Netflix series, and his memoir “Spare.” As a result, there is allegedly concern that restoring access to royal properties could eventually provide material for future media projects.
