According to the Daily Mail, wedding guests claimed the NFL star grew emotional while exchanging vows inside Madison Square Garden. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift reportedly teared up during a section in which he promised to “protect her forever.” One guest told the outlet that Travis Kelce “kept it together,” but said there was “a lot of tear drying” after Swift became emotional during that part of the ceremony.
ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, who reportedly attended the wedding, described the vows as “real, vulnerable, serious and silly, deeply loving.” Two guests also told NBC News that the ceremony moved many people in attendance to tears and that Kelce appeared especially emotional throughout the exchange. Swift’s aunt, Robin Gentry, also reflected on the ceremony, telling LBC, “They cried, and they laughed, and they danced, and they hugged, and they kissed.”
Kelce’s mother, Donna, offered only a brief glimpse into the celebration when asked about the wedding afterwards. “I can’t say a heck of a lot except it was magical, man, magical,” she said. According to reports, around 1,000 guests attended the celebration after arriving discreetly at Madison Square Garden, where the arena had reportedly been transformed into an elaborate indoor garden setting.
Reports claimed Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony. Swift reportedly wore a Christian Dior Haute Couture gown and walked down the aisle accompanied by her nieces, Jason and Kylie Kelce’s daughters. The kids scattered flower petals as an instrumental version of her hit song “Love Story” played.
