More Bad News for Home Improvement After Tim Allen Revealed That Reboot Is Stuck

Days after Tim Allen provided a disheartening update on the much-awaited Home Improvement reboot, fans of the 1991 sitcom have received yet another piece of bad news. While all eight seasons of the fan-favorite ABC series are currently available to watch on Netflix, that will soon change.

All eight seasons of Home Improvement are leaving Netflix

Fans of the beloved sitcom Home Improvement who wish to revisit the show should do so soon. This is because the Tim Allen-led series will soon be leaving Netflix. All eight seasons of the Emmy-nominated series will leave the renowned streaming platform on August 1, 2026.

Created by Carmen Finestra, David McFadzean, and Matt Williams, the show revolves around the misadventures of TV host Tim Taylor, played by Allen. He and his wife Jill, played by Patricia Richardson, frequently find their hands full while trying to raise their three sons. As such, they often recruit the help of their next-door neighbor Wilson, played by Earl Hindman, who pitches in by providing unorthodox solutions to their familial troubles.

In addition to Allen, Richardson, and Hindman, the principal cast of the sitcom also includes Taran Noah Smith, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Zachery Ty Bryan, Richard Karn, and Debbe Dunning. Home Improvement also features a number of recurring cast members, including William O’Leary, Blake Clark, Pamela Anderson, and Jimmy Labriola, among others.

In a recent interview, Tim Allen opened up about why movement behind the scenes on the Home Improvement reboot has been at a standstill for so long. The Toy Story 5 actor noted that the delay has predominantly been due to the issues involving actors who played his on-screen sons. “They keep talking about how it could move forward, but they get stuck [because] there are some personality problems right now with the boys,” he noted.
