President Donald Trump raised eyebrows during a public appearance in North Dakota with a “threesome” joke involving his adult sons. He made the remark while talking about the Medal of Honor during the opening of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library.

Trump was speaking about the Medal of Honor when he shifted to a lighthearted remark, gesturing toward Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. in the audience. “I see my two beautiful sons sitting there. I think I’m going to give one to myself, one to them, and we’ll have a threesome,” Trump told the crowd.
The Medal of Honor is awarded exclusively to service members who demonstrate “conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty” during combat operations.
Trump went on to discuss the stringent criteria required for the Medal of Honor. He then quipped about selecting one son “for their genius at hunting” while awarding himself one “for taking on ‘Russia, Russia, Russia’ or something.”
Earlier that day, the president had also joked about wanting the honor. “I want to give one to myself, but they tell me, and I’m not allowed to,” he said. “What have I done to deserve it and they couldn’t think of anything, so I’m not happy with them today.”
The first father and son to receive the Medal of Honor were Arthur and Douglas MacArthur. Arthur received the honor for his actions during the Civil War, while Douglas earned his for “preparing the Philippine Islands to resist conquest” during World War II.
Moreover, the event marked the donation of a Medal of Honor awarded to the Roosevelt family to the new library. Theodore Roosevelt remains the only U.S. president to receive the honor. His son, Theodore Roosevelt Jr., also earned the medal for his bravery during D-Day in World War II.
